This Guy Sucked teaches listeners that a fundamental part of ‘doing’ history is critical engagement with the past — which sometimes means literally criticizing it.

No matter how beloved, history’s greatest heroes were still people, often misremembered and capable of misbehavior. On TGS, we look at historical legacy as something that is built, rather than set in stone, and give expert historians the opportunity to correct the record.

Some of the people featured in the show changed the course of history for the worse, some of them are memorialized inaccurately, and some of them were just plain mean. But in the end, they all sucked - so let’s talk about it!
